The Estate consists of two farms; Camocim Farms and Atalaia Farms which are adjacent to each other, separated only by the main highway, BR 262, traveling through Pedra Azul and connecting the port city of Vitória, Espirito Santo to Belo Horizonte, the capital or Minas Gerais.
The Estate is located in the city of Domingos Martins, in the area of Pedra Azul do Aracê, in the coastal state of Espirito Santo, Brasil. Pedra Azul is a protected national park region of gently rolling hills, spectacular rock formations, numerous indigenous plant and animal species, an abundance of rivers and cascading waterfalls and a healthy tourist trade.
The Estate is located at an average altitude of 1,100 meters above sea level. The average temperature of the region is 21ºC with a range from 0ºC to 35ºC depending on the season. The area is blessed with moderate weather and temperatures year round, with a slight coastal breeze and mild weather patterns that are well suited to the cultivation of the coffee culture.
The Estate consists of 300 hectares; 150.38 hectares at Camocim and 149.62 hectares at Atalaia. There is an area of the Estate dedicated to a natural forest preserve. There is an abundance of open areas and waterways and an area dedicated for future agro-eco-resort development.
Currently, the Estate consists of 270,000 actively producing coffee trees. This past summer, we planted over 30,000 new trees, mostly of the yellow variety. These new plantings are expected to produce their first crop with the 2009 harvest.
