Origins Coffees
Camocim Organics supports other local and regional growers through education, investment and market access.
Camocim actively invests in other regional producers to upgrade the quality of their coffee and improve the standard of living on these plantations. The coffee’s selected for this program are exposed to the same rigorous standards by which Camocim measures it’s own Estate Grown Coffees. These coffees are distributed under the Camocim Oragnic “Origins” label and customers can be assured that they are receiving the highest quality coffee for their appropriate price point.
In addition, Camocim Organic, in partnership with Instituto Biodinamico and the Brasilian Government, has arranged for the financing, certification and distribution for a formal program to convert 40 coffee producers in the state of Espirito Santo to organic farming methods. This program is aligned with Camocim’s philosophy of sustainable agricultural practices and improved standard of living for the local producers and workers. These coffees will be distributed by Camocim Organic through a series of local competitions sponsored by IBD, the Brasilian Government, and various Brasilian, American and European buyers.
Our “Origins” partners produce coffees from many regions of Brasil, including southern Minas Gerais, Bahia, São Paulo and Espirito Santo. Our grower partners have many years experience and do an execellent job cultivating and harvesting their coffees. One of our growers includes the very first producer of organic coffee in Brasil.
