What's New
Most Recent | Camocim Events | Market EventsWinter is upon us and the farm is abundant with activities. Starting in May this year, our team has already picked over 15,000 kilos of fruit and will continue to harvest our crop well into September. We should be able to make our first delivery to our customers in November. Our flock of Jacu Birds are busy enjoying the results of our hard work over the summer and are doing their best to maintain their position as the best pickers on our team. Our regular pickers are so distraught over the Jacus’ ability to outperform, that they’ve challenged the Jacu flock to a company soccer game in hopes of regaining a little bit of pride and bragging rights.
Last year we produced over 25,000 kilos of green coffee and planted over 30,000 new coffee trees, mostly of the yellow variety. This summer (february/march 2008) we plan to plant another 50,000 trees. Currently, the temperature is perfect for the picking, drying and resting of our coffees, with warm days, humid nights and cool breezes. The water resources are full from the early winter rains and the cascading waterfalls that are scattered throughout the region are flowing bountifully and offering visitors a truly spectacular landscape. This is a magical time of year in Pedra Azul.
Make sure to check the calendar of events for Camocim this winter and spring and make plans to attend. We are looking forward to participating in the newly revamped BSCA “Cup of Excellence” Competition in December 2007. Please check back on details for this upcoming event and don’t miss the opportunity to take part in this spectacle.
