Living agriculture, wildlife preservation
and education to transform territories.

The Jacu Bird Wildlife Foundation (JBWF) is an initiative of Fazenda Camocim in partnership with the Biodiversity Institute (IBIO), created in 2015 with the goal of protecting wildlife in the Pedra Azul region of Espírito Santo. Focused on conserving the Atlantic Forest, the foundation uses the Jacu (Penelope obscura) — a native bird and symbol of local biodiversity — as an umbrella species to promote the preservation of the biome.
The project combines science, regenerative agriculture, and ecological education, proving that it is possible to integrate conservation and sustainable development.
To promote the harmonious coexistence of agricultural production and biodiversity.

In a scenario of uncontrolled growth, mass consumption, and accelerated ecosystem destruction, the foundation emerged as a counterpoint. The main objective of the Jacu Bird Wildlife Foundation (JBWF) is to promote scientific research in the Atlantic Forest of the mountains of southeastern Brazil. In this way, it fosters a new relationship between humans and nature, inspiring a new way of caring for the land based on respect, scientific knowledge, and the appreciation of life in all its forms.
Actions

The foundation develops ongoing wildlife monitoring projects, degraded area restoration, research on other species, and environmental education programs for local communities. It uses discreet observation technologies, such as camera traps, and non-invasive methodologies to record and protect mammals such as anteaters, deer, pacas, and wildcats.
Additionally, it runs awareness campaigns, such as Protect the Jacu, and maintains an online store with eco-friendly products, sales of which directly support the foundation's projects.
